I need help desperately!!!

Hi i'm david and i need help with my school project.

Ok - it's a bit long...

At school we make eportfolios about our work and then when we've finished we comment on each others. At first we had to literally open up each others HTML file and write our comment. Which i would say is a little tedious.

My new project is a multimedia one so i want to give it a little class and make it professional.

Instead of manually writing in each others comments i want to make a form where they can write name and their message and then submit it. I want their message to then appear on another HTML page.

I have tried using javascript but you cannot read/write files.

I then resorted to XML - but i don't know much of it and it is far too complecated for me. Is there a way that i can store the persons name and message in an XML file and then display it on another HTML page.

It's wrting to the XML file which is the most difficult. I can display the data using flash.

I have Dreamweaver and flash 8 professional. I also have MS Info path if that is any help.

Please help me i need to finish this project desperately.

I am only allowed to use the following file types...

XML, HTML, HTM, TXT, PDF, SWF, PPS, PPT and other files like pictures and music.

Firstly, this page will need to be called from a central server....

You will then need a server side scripting language (ASP, PHP, ColdFusion, JSP, etc) with file level access on the server (or database access) in order to store data and make this centrally available.

The only other way I can perceive this working would be via a remote database and some high level AJAX for making the push / pull on the data.

Either way... not a small task for someone of your level.
