Re: Xml Table Help

What exactly are you trying to achieve and how do you intend to use the data?

Re: Xml Table Help

Ok but that still begs the question as to why?

Whilst XML has some value as a data transmission format for complex data, it hardly seems appropriate for this particular need and I wonder why you want to go to such trouble.

Re: Xml Table Help

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Been away over the Easter long weekend.

Setting up the data file itself is all about matching pairs of tags plus a header that lets programs that 'consume' the data know what to expect.

The header is as follows:
Code: Select all
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
Note that the encoding is UTF-8.

Therefore, it's important that any characters outside the normal ASCII range, if there are any, being encode to this standard.

An example of how the data might be structured is shown below:
Code: Select all
<league>
   <team>
      <player>...</player>
      <player>...</player>
      ...
   </team>
</league>
Note that all tag names must be in lowercase.

How this gives you an idea to play with.
