Snooker Blog?

I've noticed that, bar the official sites, there are no blogs that track snooker matches, news, etc. I'm tempted to make one myself this evening if I can. Does anyone think this idea has potential?

Cheers,

Jack

Re: Snooker Blog?

Thanks. I might use WordPress, I'm not sure if mine is ready yet. Got some rather large adjustments to do. I've got the domain thesnookerblog.com now (For £3.70 (BARGAIN!)) and trying to find some decent hosting.

Did you buy off godaddy Jack?
Site5 is cheap for hosting, most people go there.

Re: Snooker Blog?

Yes of GoDAddy with a code. Site 5's plan to end all plans looks awesome. How much is $5? It's about £2.50 I think?

Re: Snooker Blog?

I'm ok for the maths exam. We do modules and this is a B grade paper. I'm confident.

I didn't go for Site5, they requried the payment upfront. Very misleading on their home page! I've gone with Dream Hosts. I used them for CSS Trickery and they have not let me down once so far.

Re: Snooker Blog?

Most sites do this. Are you saying that if you had to pay for a 2 year sign-up, it would be £60 upfront?

I found this misleading also, but most people prefer to pay upfront - so they are confident that hosting is sorted, no need to worry about it anymore.

Re: Snooker Blog?

I'd hate to pay up front. Imagine you didn't want the site anymore after 2 months.

Yes. To get the offer of '$5 a month' hosting, I had to pay $240 up front for a 48 month contract. I could not cancel and get money back.

NO WAY!

Exactly.

With Dream-Hosting I have paid £10 for 1 year. I know I said I hate paying upfront but it is only £10. If I give up the site, I wont have wasted much money.

Re: Snooker Blog?

I'd still not go for up front even if it were that cheap.
I think you should try link building very early for this project and the site having a red and green theme would be nice.

Re: Snooker Blog?

Yep I've been thinking of a red and green theme. I posted some logos for your opinion in the Graphics forum. I'll post about link building in the forum in a minute. I've been doing a lot of reading on SEO recently which I'll put into practise. Looking forward to it, just waiting for the domain & hosting set up (and an email from dream-hosting!)
