Question Joomla

Hello all experts!

I am a newbie and i mean newbie. I started my own company 6 months ago and am just now getting in the process of doing my website. I have purchased joomla as my content management system and am a lost. I have read their tutuorials and have gotten know where really. I have yet to publish my site because I cannot figure out how to develop the site in way that i could live with. I could use any help you can give me. When i started out i was using one of their templates that did not even really go with my business. ( I am a professional pooper scooper) I am having a hard time finding templates with dogs. and the one i have found that was free, i do not know how to change the codes in order to remove the name they have on there to replace it with my company name. I am even unsure as how to upload it into the server once i get it the way i like it. I could really use your expert help on this project. I went with Siteground.com as my host and they provided me with joomla. My husband also owns his own business and went with godaddy.com and he is doing much better than i but since his business was easier to find a template he was able to go faster at this process. He is not entirly happy with the way his site looks but as i get more used to codes and how to do things i am hoping to help him as well. But my first priority is getting my site up and making it look awesome! I am unsure of how to once the site is to my liking how i would upload it into siteground where it will be published to the web.

you can look at the site at http://supertrooperscoopers.com

Please any help would be greatly apprecatied !!!!!

Thank you,

Ty

Re: Joomla

To change the title on your website you will need to have the .fla file for this: http://supertrooperscoopers.com/temp...mages/logo.swf.

I have looked on google for free Joomla Templates with a Dog theme but with no avail. I am no Joomla expert - infact, ive never used it before!

Re: Problem with Joomla template

This has happened to me so many times! The company name is on an image. See here:

And here is the image in the html:
HTML: Select all
<img src="http://supertrooperscoopers.com/images/banners/osmbanner1.png" alt="Advertisement" border="0">
For the link, I see this:
HTML: Select all
<td colspan="2"><div align="right" class="style2"><a href="http://www.templatki.com" target="_blank">www.templatki.com</a></div></td>
Change that to:
HTML: Select all
<td colspan="2">&nbsp;</td>
" &nbsp;" is just a space used as a placeholder in that table cell.

That should do it!

Cheers,
SWagner

Re: Joomla

I told you above... You'll need to have the .fla file to change that.

It's the original Flash-file. It's probably not in your template package..
It pretty much means you have to use Flash to alter the header of the site..

No, dont you mean you will need to have to have Flash and the original flash file (.fla ending) to alter the header of the site?

I am sure that there is a decompiler out there but i don't know anything about them!

Re: Joomla

So you are both telling me, that there is no fix to getting the words MY DOG off of my site is this correct? So I will have to get another template to work from or create my own??? And there is no way to remove the Joomla box that is right smack dab in the begining of my pages off as well?

Is there any software that is free and easy to use to create my own template?

eh.. yeah.. The thing is that you'll need the used fonts aswell.. (I think.. I'm not a flash-guru)

I didn't say it was impossible. but easy is different..

Re: Joomla

Try ScriptLance.com which is free to register and post what you need. I've used them quite a bit and it based on "bidding." I had very good luck using them for template work and special components and modules for Joomla. I finally know which files to edit myself, so fee free to send me Private Message.
