Adding my own news and comment section

Hi,
I'm afraid I am relatively new to web design so don't know how to code (nor want to as I am creating the content and there's no time to do both!).
I have a couple of sites set up with Dreamweaver and hosted on GoDaddy (using their Windows server option). On both sites I need to have a news and comment section to which I can regularly add news items and
articles written by myself and other contributors. It obviously needs to be fairly elastic and have an archive for the items that get older.
I have looked around on the web for an add-in tool but all I can find is external news and RSS feed utilities.
I was advised to use a Blog but having played around with this it doesn't seem to be the right application for what I need and takes ages to load.
Anyone out there know of a site add-on that could fit the bill - hopefully a free one or at a reasonable price?
There must be millions of opinion and business sites that need this function.

Many Thanks,

Patrick

You need a CMS system. See this thread for an extensive list - Help with Blogs.

Re: Adding my own news and comment section

By the way, Karinne I meant to say thank you for coming back to me.
I guess I'm just a bit frustrated by the whole web design thing. I have been through two local web designers already who basically are too busy with more profitable business web designing to spend the time on our not-for-profit site. As result, after 9 months our basic site is still not fully functional.
So I have had to learn Dreamweaver and Photoshop at a basic level to try and move things further. But still find there is a mountain to climb. Web design after all these years shouldn't be so difficult.
Cheers
Patrick

Re: Adding my own news and comment section

Actually, web designing is not something you learn in a day or two. It's not like Microsoft Word

I don't blame the local designers to turn you down... especially if they're not getting paid for the job. I for one am a strong supporter of doing a job right and getting paid for it.

What you want done is not a small feet. You need a server-side language (like PHP or .NET) and a database to store all that content and then spit it out on the page again.

You might want to post a job in the Jobs Opportunities section. Maybe someone would do it for free.
