Fireworks yes/no ?

Hey guys, I'm not such a hotshot at making site layouts in Photoshop. Is it worth learning Photoshop better? or just sticking with Macromedia Fireworks for making my websites and slicing etc.. ?

I use them both really. I guess it is more of a personal preference. I use them both, as they both have features that the other does not.

Re: Fireworks yes/no ?

True, i wouldn't mind learning Photoshop cause its capable of so much more over Fireworks. However I like to use fireworks cause its just drop dead easy and quick for simple layouts :P.

true but simple won't make you the big bucks in web design. As I said I use them both, and prefer Photoshop, but also use fireworks for certain effects that photoshop can not accomplish.

Re: Fireworks yes/no ?

I'm interested in this question, too. What can Fireworks do, exactly? I've seen it but I can't tell from the description what it is.

In the same vein, what graphics program is good for making vector images, at a reasonable cost?

Re: Fireworks yes/no ?

Fireworks for me I guess is good for making simple web page layouts (what i use it for). I also find it useful for visually designing a site (cause its easy to drag things around etc.). You can take image slices just like how you can in Photoshop along with reducing file sizes (png ->gif).

What most people do, they just manage to download some photoshop version and look up tutorials on how to use it.
