Question Transferring Website Data

Hi guys,

Imma graphic designer thats getting into web design. I know this guy that wants me to maintain his business' website (change address, color, font, etc.). Its pretty much all basic html. What I'm wondering though is how do I go about getting all the info I need for the website. Do I just get it from the guy thats currently maintaining the website? Do I need anything from him. Can I just copy the source code from the website and paste it into dreamweaver, that way all I will need is the images? Will I have to change hosts' or servers (not really sure how that works)? I would just like to know what steps I have to take in order to do this.

Someone should have the login details for your FTP account (the account you use to login to access your files on the hosting server).

Once you have these details, you can use Dreamweaver or an FTP client such as Filezilla, to download the website files and modify them to your needs.
