What "Mood" for my website?

I'm making a website for my web design and development company. I want to start designing a website, but for the drafting, the very first thing I do is find the "mood" of the website. But I can't really pinpoint what "mood" a design company would be. Should I do ____?

  1. Serious
  2. Happy
  3. Playful
  4. Retro
  5. Fun
I'm sorta against serious, its too... blah. I like retro, gives me lots of room to play around. What do you think?

Retro sounds a good idea, just be careful how retro you make it. For first glance you want your users to think, "wow great talent, great retro look", you DO NOT want them to think, "get into the modern world mate".

I think retro and happy would be the best if you are against serious

Re: What "Mood" for my website?

I think if you ask yourself how you want people to perceive you when you get dressed in the morning , this would help you think about your mood and image. What do you portray as a person and will this carry through to your company image? happy and retro........is that you...........so is that your company.........?
tell us how you get on, once you've given it some thought, and good luck.
