saving files

if i wanted to save something that somebody inputted in a text field as an html file on my website, is there a way to do that in code without acessing the server website and going through all that tedious stuff? thanks

Your best bet would be either blogging sites such as wordpress, or a CMS, (content management system)

This is something that would require server-side scripting such as PHP. Im not exactly sure what ur trying to do though, could u explain in more detail?

yes, i understand it requires php. what i am trying to do is make a feature that allows someone to write a comment or put in some text in a text field and save it as a file on my server, something like "comment.html" where it would be basically just <html><body><p>stuff here</p></body></html>. this whole thing is more of a learning exercise than anything else, so using somebody else's software basically defeats the purpose. thanks.
