Agile methods

Hi all

If any one can remember I asked about the methodogloies not so long ago http://www.webforumz.com/website-pla...htm#post304208. I was kindly pointed into the direction of Agile Methods.

I was wondering if any one has any experience on Agile methods and if they could help me.

I can find tones of information about the waterfall model and its structure but I am unable to find much information on agile methods and their structure.

My questions are.

1) In extreme programming, can it be done by one person or is pair programming essential?

2) what particular agile method is best suited for web design as there are many.

3) Can any one point me to some literature on agile methods please?

Yes you are correct.

I can find detailed information on the methods, technquies and the life cyce model of tradtional methods (waterfall)

But I cant find much on Agile methods. I have been able to discover what Agile methods are and that they focus on fast delivery with little documentation and losts of customer feeback.

But as far as the agile method life cycle i cant find much. Or the best agile method for web design.

Re: Agile methods

Maybe you can use RAD or rapid application development. RAD thus enables quality products to be developed faster, saving valuable resources.

Yes it can be done by one person, at present I use agile web development to work on the site I am web master for. I am currently working on three projects a BAU change list, plus other requests for small updates.

This is achieved through a code management system that we use called starteam which allows me to work on the same website in different stages of development (called streams). A change in one stream will float down to all the others. this requires discipline, planning, and set release windows to ensure the streams float correctly.

google - sorry not much help there, but if you are university you have access to more than us in terms of research. Try searching your university library for forester research papers, managment journals, white papers etc on this topic. I'm sure you will find loads.

hope that helps a little
