Artist Site

Hey,

My dad runs a site for a local artist and wants me to re-do it Web2.0, jazz it up, etc. If you where looking at an artist site, what would you want to see on the home page?

I'm thinking 1 random large image of any painting, that comes up. ALmost gallery style, sort of like cssmania in a way. Lots of images on the home page. Put them under headings, EG 'Landscapes', 'Beachs', 'Woodland' etc etc.

The current site is http://gillianjansen.co.uk/

Re: Artist Site

nice header, like a rolling sea in oil, nice hues of blues etc

then navigation

then yes, one large image (random, from the collection)

then next to that title and text about the painting

3 or 4 more down the side or underneath.

fancy footer

Re: Artist Site

don't tempt me!!! i love cornwall!!!

light and airy - bright and colourful, just like the place!

take colour samples from the painitings, the colours sell it!

try a set of images on the right and a big one in the middle left.

go for it - but don't make it too dark!
