any ideas for this piece
i have built myself a template for my developers site, but i am at a loss,
i have a pretty important 'partition' in the centre of my template ( attached - marked with a red x ) but i have no idea what to put there, anyone got any ideas, i was not sure whether to put an image or some text, if you think an image, what sort ? , if you think some text, what about ? , i know its pretty silly to ask advice aboout this but i really am stuck thanks

Re: any ideas for this piece
How about your latest design possibly, with a short bit of information about the site, what is was used for and what technologies they required?

OR,
if your portfolio is quite large, or you have customers with a spare bit of cash, maybe have a featured site section, this would not only show off your work, but your customers would get advertising on your home page, and would earn you some cash? hope there aren't too bad

Re: any ideas for this piece
I was going to make the same suggestion. A brief look at the last couple of portfolio examples. Check out my homepage.. right side to see an example.
Another possibility is to put a "pull quote". Use a client testimonial. Here are a couple of examples of pull quotes. http://www.mandarindesign.com/troops...magazinelayout http://www.cleverclogs.org/2006/08/pull_quote_myst.html If you don't have a testimonial, then you could put a statement about your design beliefs .. Hope that helps! |

thanks, i like the idea of the "pull quote", as i think putting a portfolio image there might 'crowd' the content - thank you both

Re: any ideas for this piece
yeah a Pull Quote would look nice. One other suggestion is a form of some kind... I'd prolly not do that though as people may just spam it.. for some reason people like to hit submit buttons.
