dreamweaver on ubunto
Hi, not sure where this post should really go...
I've recently installed ubunto (linux) on my laptop, does anyone know if dreamweaver will work? Initially I did want to stick to open source software but I'm not aware of any comparable to dreamweaver... Cheers |

DW is a Windows/Mac thing ... not compatible with Linux.

Re: dreamweaver on ubunto
You can actually get dreamweaver to work.. I have a laptop with a dual window/ubuntu loader.
You need to have windows and ubuntu on the same computer (partitioned drive) and then you can download WINE (WINE Is Not an Emulator) that will allow you to run all the programs on the windows partition (some more glitchy than others).. Dreamweaver works okay though.

Well. .. you don't need DW ... there are a few Linux HTML editors out there.
There's Quanta, BlueFish, vim, etc... |

Re: dreamweaver on ubunto
Aptana, apatana.com is excellent. It is great for both CSS, HTML and AJAX/Javascript. I currently use it in Fedora. If you really like Linux, but need Windows programs you could run it in VMware inside of XP/Vista or whatever. I Design and do HTML/CSS in Vista for the most part, and then move the files into Fedora for Backend Development.
