Simple but fun webpage design

I am running into designer's block over here (as I claim I have from time to time) over the design of a new website for the company that I work for. The website I am building consists of one page and no text. All it will have is six links to the other websites that my company runs. I guess you could call this a simple portal site for my company.

That is my main problem though, it's so damn simple that it is driving me crazy, if it were complex and large I'd have designs coming out of my ear but since it's so simple I am having a hard time designing something simple and fun.

If anyone could give me any ideas or link me to other sites that I could possibly see to get some ideas from that would be great!

By the way the website is going to be for the "Bash Planning Network". As can be judged by the name it is a portal site with links to different companies that offer DJ services, Party Themes, Locations, etc.

If there is no text on the site and just a few links I would imagine SEO is not important to this portal site.

Don't know what your skillz are amigo but if that be the case then i would go for some kind of funky interactive flash presentation. Shock and awe!

dangergeek you are correct in assuming that SEO isn't exactly a priority with this site. All of the other sites that are linked with this site hold the responsibility of SEO. This is just something that sort of ties them all together.

Shock and awe is something that I had in mind until I was given two days to think it and create it. Not exactly a lengthy amount of time to come up with some awe-inspiring. I'll just have to stick with primitive and pretty for now until I can find some extra time down the road to give it the kind of attention it really deserves.

I would go with a nice party image in the background right smack in the middle ... something like balloons and a dj table etc...

Then on the foreground maybe some nice glassy rounded box linked to the other sites?!?

Kinda hard to explain without giving a sketch ... hopefully this will job some ideas.

thanks for the advice karinne! I did a rotating disco ball and some 3d-esque party streamers. Got pleasing remarks so I guess I hit the nail on the head.
