Suggestions please.

I'm going to be producing a site for the company I work for. The design of the site is giving me a bit of grief because the company does not currently have a web presence and the existing company image, if you like, is a little (a lot) dated.

The company distributes automotive glass. Traditional company colours are white and red but I want to try and steer clear of using red as much as I can on the site as I find it a very severe colour and not too easy on the eye.

As well as serving as the company's primary online presence the site will feature various sections that existing customers can access downloads etc.

I'm open to suggestions here... How would you approach the design?

Re: Suggestions please.

I like reds and maroons actually.

Red white and black work well together and can give a very professional look.

A little but of red and black and the main bit white.

I've used red black and cream on my site, check it out in my sig to see how the colours work together.

Re: Suggestions please.

why not try a blend / phase thingy from white to red.
see attached
then move onto a white background, but using red headings?

Also check out your comp : http://www.autoglass.co.uk/ their logo is red and yellow, but the site isn't

Re: Suggestions please.

They're not our competition... we're wholesalers.... we sell to them

Red to white gradient is not my cup of tea at all. I'll try the red/white/black combo this week.

Try not to go too dark,
as in having the background as black.
A white background with red gradients would be nice.
If I find a similiar site I'll show you.
