Portfolio Redesign Second Attempt

Ok after the feedback from my last attempt I decided again to start from scratch rather than try and improve what i had...

So here it is...

I've gone for something still with bold colours and lots of simplicity and straight lines...but with a 'different' menu that will probably take me forever to get working across all browsers and will probably anger me a lot but hey I likie the look of it...

Again...honest thoughts and input on any aspect of the site are much appreciated.

Mike

Well, I like it.

The problem with your snazzy menu design is this: it will be extremely tough to make it elastic. If you want this menu, you'll need to fix the size in pixels. Consequently you'll need to shrink the page, because at the moment it's too wide on 1024*768.

Re: Portfolio Redesign Second Attempt

hmm...I'm now trying to think of a way to make it elastic...and I'm failing...

is it such a bad thing design for 1024x768 monitors...what percentage of people are that stuck in the past?

The plan was to fix it at...1024x768...but I didn't really think about the 800x600 people.

The most popular screen res might be 1024 and more but how many people have their browser (viewport) maximized?

I rarely maximize my browser to it's usually around 900 or so.

I like that a lot! It's very striking! That navigation looks like it's going to be h#ll to create!

But I like the design and color scheme a lot. One observation (not a critique-just food for thought) the navigation is the part that catches my eye the most. The logo is not nearly as noticable. Is that ok for you?

Very nice

Re: Portfolio Redesign Second Attempt

Yea I wanted to make the logo subtle as it doesn't fit in with the design when its large. Its more the content and my name that matters.

And the header has both in large fonts so I think I'm content with that.

Well...I've just coded it and I'm gonna go put it up in the critique section so go check it out!
