Text Size

Hi all!
Sorry if this is the wrong section of the forumz to post this, but i was wondering something!
I use the text size 'Medium' in Internet Explorer for all my websites, and i created a new website and looks fine in the medium selection, but when the size is made bigger, to 'Larger' and 'Largest', the text just goes to big for the website and overlaps sometimes.
How do you get around this?

Many Thanks
Cracka

Re: Text Size

Are you using Divs? Can we have a look at your site?

Re: Text Size

My website isn't commercial yet, just the basic stages, but was just a general thing I thought of, I am using Divs but still changes when the text size is changed, look at the screenshots i did, the first one with the size at medium, see how the text stays in the menu bar, and the second that is on larger goes way past it, so any more suggestions?

Many Thanks
Cracka

Re: Text Size

Is that black and blue background all in one div? Is that a two color background image? If it's all one div, the text will just expand. Maybe put a margin-right over the blue so text can't go on top of it?

Re: Text Size

No it is two seperate divs, I have one that is the body which is a dark black colour and another seperate div that is the background, but that is a gradient image that is repaeated, that is black and blue!
You no because I have the two seperate divs compared to just the one you said, will it still work if margins was put in?

Re: Text Size

Hmmm..
Do you have a width set in pixels for the content div? Seems if you had a set width, the text would wrap or break onto a new line.

I'm not sure without sitting down and testing this out, since I've never had to do this. (not saying I shouldn't have tested my sites for expanding text)

Maybe someone will have an idea off the top of their head. Otherwise, I'd have to make and example and test it out.

Just tested my own site, and nothing breaks on increasing the text size. http://www.maine-lyweb.com/

Peak at this and see if you get any ideas.

Re: Text Size

Use ems for all dimensions and the content boxes will resize with the text. I don't fully understand your problem but this might work, I guess.

Pete.
