IF I were to use a program...

I know it's best to hand code your web pages, but (at the moment) I can't hand code an ENTIRE site, so I plan to use some kind of program for a little help.

I just want to know which program you guys recommend. I have a little experience with GoLive but I have absolutely no experience in any other web site building program (unless you count Photoshop).

Also, is there any specific program that you recommend for HTML writing (like note pad with HTML perks or something)?

Thanks in advance,
Nightmare

Pspad is very good if you are programming on a Windows system. It is kinda like notepad with some extra goodies. Ummm, I am going to say learning to hand code it the best option. But if you want some help from a program dreamwever is the best program, as it does not put in AS MUCH crappy code...hehehe.

Yeah one of my favorites. Only one thing better then Pspad, that is Coda! It is heaven, but you have to be on a Mac in order to use it...shame!

Re: IF I were to use a program...

BBedit is my favourite but I've only used Coda briefly on a friends macbook. Might give it a shot looks like a nice little app. But really try BBedit, it is a great program and I've tried a few since I first started with it but have always gone back to it.

Pete.

Hmmm, I really love the latest version of Coda. But I will certainly check out BBedit, I wonder if they have a trial?

Yeah, I'm using the beta for skEdit. You might have to convert Pete; it's just about caught up with BBEdit with regards to some of the oddball features. It's so nice to use

Yeah I have skEdit it is nice, and I like certain features of it. Also like the $25 dollar price...lol. But I still kinda think Coda is better...lol. I will download the trial for BBedit and see wither I like it.

I haven't used Coda for very long, so I can't really say, but skEdit 4 has some *nice* new features.

Re: IF I were to use a program...

Dreamweaver is by far the most advanced, by my opinion, it's what I use now. Rather expensive, though - costs about 750$ per boxed license. But Notepad++ is free, simple, and quite good.

Re: IF I were to use a program...

Ahhh, but none of you are on a Mac...which means you have never seen the super cool Coda, or BBedit, or SKedit...all are the best editors on the market and cheap!
