Tables or layers?

Hey, I was just wondering what you prefer to use.
I used to use layers indefinatly, no tables or anything but lately i have used a table to structure the layout of my template (which is difficult to use for content after a certain point). So now i use both layouts and tables.

It's not a thing of "what do you prefer" it's the way it should be done.

Tables were never meant to be used to lay out your design, they were, and still are, meant for tabular data.

The <div> element along with CSS is what you should be using to lay out your design.

Have a look at the link in my sig, it's also a sticky in many of the sections of the forums.

That's what I thought too, but saying that, I work on a site which uses tables to a great advantage. And you can organise your template quite well using tables.
But again, I have given up on that technique myself, and gone back to layers as their much more flexible.

I doubt VERY much that you could do something like the CSS ZenGarden with tables

What? I could totally do Page not Found in tables...hehehe
