They offer me to develop the site with affordable price and good quality in short time.

My guess and it's only a guess is that you will probably get what you pay for. A site that inexpensive would make me extremely cautious.

Although the cost of living is much less in India. I've seen similarly priced things. In fact we had adverts sent to the company I used to work for "any site for £500" apparently. They might be aright.. they might be rubbish as well though, your mileage may vary

Legitimate offers like that do appear to be out there though.

I've made education sites before and they are huge, monstrous things. I would be worried about entrusting that to a company so far away from me. Also, it might slow down your customer service, which is a big part of the job.

I'm not trying to insult or judge an entire country based on this but every piece of work that I have seen exported to India has come back as rubbish. 99.9% of the time you will get someone that you can't communicate with and try explaining to them what you want in a website. Plus, most of the websites/Companies that do the export work are actually based in America/Britain and they take 50% of the profit, then send it over to India.

Now can programmers in India make good stuff? Sure I have seen many talented designers and programmers out there, but I will ensure you, they aren't working for some exporting company, they have their own portfolios just like everyone else.

As for making an education site... get sponsors and hire a real professional to do it. Someone that you can communicate in your own language with and that is really good, or do it yourself. Sponsors can take care of most of the large bills so work on getting those first.

Very good advise from Justin there. I am going to add a little more from some of my recent experiences. I recently did a website for a company that does sleep study scoring for large sleep centers and hospitals. When researching the competition I was amazed at how many of the other companies were saying stuff like..."We outsource to India so that it is cheaper for you!"

I don't know about you but this sure would not be a selling point for me, as a Doctor. Here's why. So say this company does a horrible job on a soring and messes everything up, and won't work with me. What am I going to do? I can't contact the board and request them to evaluate the individual, because they are in another country. I was just so disappointed.

Another thing I hate is calling Dell, Tiger Direct, or well any big company now and getting someone from India that I can't understand, and on top of that normally they are a jerk...lol
