Quick Question

Hey hey I'm new.

Anywho I just had a quick question, I hope this is an ok place to ask it. I have a website where I upload a new article just about every day, but it isn't uploaded on the homepage like a news articles would be, it's a seperate page added every day.

I know HTML and CSS decently well, but I just started looking at JavaScript today and I don't have a clue about any of the other server script languages yet. Now in the header I'm wanting to add a link where you can visit the most recently added article, but I'm not wanting to have to manually update it every day.

So like on the homepage header it'll say "Click here for today's article" or whatever, but right now I have to update the link manually each day to go straight to the new page I upload because I havn't figured out yet how to do it otherwise. Is there a quick script or something that I can add that'll automatically transfer a user to the newest article without me having to manually update the link every day? I've also got an archive page where I'd like for it to automatically add a link to the articles in an archive, rather than me again having to manually add a link each day.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated, I'm still pretty new to coding.

Are you articles stored in a DB? That's would be your best option. Store the articles in a DB and use PHP to display it on you page.

Yeah php/MySQL, best bet. There are loads of tutorials knocking around and about a million books. Shouldn't be too difficult to implement what you want, though I still haven't worked out how to integrate a php into my sites except for blogs. You'll probably have more luck than I am. It's important to know the different elements of php but don't get too hung up on figuring them out at this stage. Learn by doing. The rest will come later I would imagine.
