Hi all,
I have an idea and wants to know that if its good or not ? I think if moderators on each forum on every period of time create a quiz topic related to forum and give a deadline to it, depends on how much hard or easy the quiz is. This way will make beginners to start thinking about the question and find solutions and bugs. What do you think ? is it good or not ?

Re: New Idea !
You know, I think the best way to learn is to do exercises and I think this will make some users to do the exercises and see how they should face the problems and solve them

Re: New Idea !
So you are thinking we should do a tutorial, then after the tutorial offer a quiz...to see wither you grasped the topic or not?

Re: New Idea !
No not tutorials ! Something like testing users skills, some professionals create a question, like making a simple effect with javascript or other about other languages or softwares.
Just create a question and wait for others to solve it then in answers we will face the problems and solutions. I hope I described my point clearly !

Re: New Idea !
I guess we could have a PHP quiz on the newsletter or something
though it's pretty pointless. And I think this is what the games section is for

Re: New Idea !
Perhaps you are suggesting something like they have on W3Schools! They have a quiz for different topics to test your knowledge? See here...
http://www.w3schools.com/quiztest/qu...sp?qtest=XHTML That what you are talking about? |

Re: New Idea !
Ok, Maybe this idea is not good enough !
All I wanted to was to help beginners in a different way, but most of you are not agree with it.

Re: New Idea !
Don't be disheartened - new ideas are always welcome! The Webforumz staff are so busy at the moment making the many wonderful changes and upgrades to Webforumz, so maybe haven't got the time to properly consider all new ideas at the moment, but ideas are still gratefully received, and might get revisited at another time

Re: New Idea !
I quite like this idea but don't worry about people knocking it back. I find that some folk are both mean and lazy (*scowl*). Most people here are nice though.

Re: New Idea !
It's not that, I might love your idea. But before I can start coding away like a mad man I have to fully understand it. Which, I am still kinda lost! Were you meaning what I said, or what Vanessa said? Or neither?

Re: New Idea !
from what i gathered it would be scenario tests.
like a css one would be: build a horizontal nav with rollover effects the colours should be _____ & ______ etc etc

Re: New Idea !
Ahhh, and this would help members practice real world issues. If that is what you are looking for, that's not really what Webforumz is here for. We want to solve the problems you have when trying to code that nav bar! We are geared to helping you learn, but we're not a school, and as such don't give projects. But in the near future, we plan on doing competitions, so that would give you real world practice.

Re: New Idea !
If this is really wanted i don't mind making a scenario for people.
Would it be like: i say a scenario, people post different solutions etc, choose a winner?

Re: New Idea !
I just wanted to make a situation where beginners can do small projects in real world, maybe not all ppl can have real projects and therefore they can not face the real problems.
So i just give an idea to help them. I know forums are all about helping solve ppl's problems, but thats what all forums in all whole net do, why don't we have a difference ? Most ppl can't spend all their time reading the posts and find the problems they may have, but maybe with this way we can accelerate their skills.
