Redirect after posting?

After you make a post, a page comes up saying, "thankyou for posting" then has a link "back to forum". Maybe you could have instead of this link, a redirect script to take you back to the forum after a few seconds? So it comes up "thankyou for posting" then after a few seconds redirects back to the index of the category you were in?

Just an idea...

It already does this. If it doesnt for you, let me know what browser you are using.

We have some suprises up our sleeves for the entire site..... Webforumz is about to receive a complete shake-up. [(;]

The redirect redirects you to the frontpage ( www.webforumz.com) and not the topic (thread) that you are viewing. It would be better to redirect the user to the thread he/she was posting to.

http://www.webforumz.com/default.asp

I was redirected to the url above.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.0.2) Gecko/20030208 Netscape/7.02

IE Version 5.00.3700.1000

It can't be browser specific, but i'm leaving my user agents here just in case... will be testing in unix later. ( its not my web design platform )

That's very strange.... I don't understand what could cause an incorrect forwarding. None at all could be done to browser/system configuration or possible configuration of routers/firewall... But incorrect is just plain weird...

It works perfect on my linux box though...Konqueror 3.1.0. and Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030313

My OS is linux i686 mandrake linux running kde 3.1.0, linux kernel 2.4.21-0.13mdksecure.

It redirects me to the post i posted. Was it fixed? :curious:
