Re: Would you consider Webforumz to be web2.0?

You are essentially taking about content syndication - this is as old as RSS itself. Generating external content for other sites is also as easy as returning a string of HTML. This is not strictly for web 2.0 and I would say with lots of conviction that it's almost as old as the web itself.... at least as long as server side technologies have existed.

This is where the confusion enters the arena.... web 2.0 to me isnt AJAX and content re-use.... to me, Web 2.0 is all about social websites.... websites that leverage the power of people to offer socially engineered content aimed at social groups - generally on a themed topic.

Webforumz fits exactly into my own idea of web 2.0, but then web 2.0 isnt a technology, web 2.0 is not even a constant idea - it changes from person to person, from website to website and from day to day...

If you ask me, the term 'web 2.0' is not worth the keystrokes it takes to type it.

I agree, its a philosophy and all philosophy's differ some what.
However web 2.0 has a constant idea, The heart of web 2.0 is accessibility and usability.

((I think the ability to embed a blog simple and easily isn't a bad idea!))

Precisely! It doesn't sound rationale too. web 2.0 might apply to some websites but yes, some doesn't need to be web 2.0-ish at all...

And most people nowadays think that web 2.0 is at all good. *foolish thinking*

ROFL! you little crazy mofo!
*yeah, that was insightful anyway*

anyhow, voted for the 3rd option. I believes it's partly web 2.0-ish. The upgrade made gives more options and better usability. Plus the design is way cooler than the old one (don't know if someone will disagree) but the buttons are good as well.

Re: Would you consider Webforumz to be web2.0?

Web 2.0 is just another theory us curious humans have created, now if only we could make this theory practical to the entire web. Otherwise its not really web 2.0 its just a way to utilize web 1.0.

If you consider AJAX, and embed objects apart of web 2.0 than, web 2.0 is a new version of the web.

As for me, I discount AJAX and Embedded objects as not a part of the original web 2.0 theory, but web 2.0 can utilize AJAX and Embedded objects to accomplish the sites goal. However Web 2.0 is not a new way to create the web but a new way to utilize the old web.
