I am listening good musics when i am bored. It gives very pleasure in my mind.

i dont think i've been bored for about thirty years.......there's so much great stuff to do..........
i dont have enough time to do it..........web, illustration, wine, outdoors, paint, see friends, swim...........
now if you were to ask what we do as displacement activity then thats a different question.........
hope you get some answers though

go running, do some photography or do some lone wolf urbex (sad i know )

lol... i'm like gerry, never have enough time to do everything, but i think that's more to do with my poor time management than having too much to do

There are little jems all around the country to be found, abandoned bunkers, mental institutions, hopsitals and so on and so forth.

It's interesting (to me atleast), either go on my own or with a local group of people.

You should try it

I've holidayed around Chester manys a time, so I bet you have some great urbex (see how I slipped that in to my vocabulary there........no one noticed)
Did some of that in my college years.............on foot around Glasgow, Paris, Venice etc...........some great sights...........
Do you go looking for visual inspiration when you do those trips, or does it run deeper than that?

depends, different places for different reasons, some for inspiration.

It's like when you sit on a bus, or a train or even in a cafe, and you see someone and they're rushing around, or holding a briefcase... it makes me think what they're doing, why are they doing it and before you know it you've built a little story around someone you know nothing about.

I'm wierd like that, different places create different atmospheres and different story's.

Chesters ok, best is the abandoneds childrens home, i know a fair bit about the history of that place too now.

I quite like industrial places such as the suburbs around manchester, birmingham and leicester also have some good spots... i want to go to london soon, as just south theres an abandoned mental institution and a milatary hospital.

I've yet to venture up to scotland, south wales is quite good too, and then theres also the tacky rundown places of brighton and blackpool (you can go into most pubs to get that run down feeling) but there are some good buildings there.

I just enjoy exploring places, and wondering who's been there, why and when etc.

And this is the point where i'll start rambling too much, so i'll cut it there.

haha just after i posted that i got sent our next location, an abandoned Tuberculosis hospital in Delamere Forest.

what do you mean by 'sent'........is this to do with your job.......or have you a group of like minded friends that organise get togethers..........?

and as for ramblings........thats great, dont stop, we're in the cafe........I wish people would say more sometimes.........its more interesting that way.................and if hearing about a different approach by someone else makes for a richer experience I'm all for it

next question is, what do you do with the stories you make up..................

a few years ago i went through a stage where i couldn't sleep, it'd literally be about a week between each time i'd sleep, so the doctor told me to start writing and drawing in this book and it would help me, which it did, so eversince i've been working on these books, it's nice to flick through them at times, just small doodles, people, places, text thoughts etc.

Some go in there.

Our urbex group consist of 13 people (the eldest being 28) and we meet up atleast once a month.

As for health and safety, maybe i have 9 lives, theres only one way to find out.

Nah you'd be suprised what the human body can take, if you fall it's all about landing, i've seen people jump of a 15ft wall before, and yet in my third house the lady down the road fell of the kirb and died (maybe because she was elderly).

You hear in the news every so often of one of those miracles

Some things are just strange, and unexplained.

I watch the first video on Youtube's frontpage and see where the related videos take me!

We just have a group account that we share, but i never use it...i just browse the forum occasionally.

I had a strange thought last night that i'm starting to sound more and more like the boy from american beauty, the one who films the bag blowing in the wind =/

Youtubes great, never was as good as stage6 mind but that's been shut down.

I dislike youtube for the fact i have to pause the video and let it load, where as the HD content would stream perfectly off stage 6.

At the moment i'm starting to take a huge interest in stop motion, however the quality of alot of stop motion video's on youtube is pretty poor (better than my own mind you).

However i think i'm far to impatient to ever produce good stop motion work.
