Re: HTML 5 first working draft

This looks to be the most promising version yet for fully separating presentation from content and also the addition of many new tags will greatly enhance semantics.

I will follow with interest.

Re: HTML 5 first working draft

Working draft doesn't really say just says it's the things they have looked at improving and agreed upon looking into more. Be nice when you can validate and use flash...

Re: HTML 5 first working draft

Interesting reading, but when this will usable and which browser support it. May be new fox will be ready for html 5. Also i see that for now they (w3) have a lot of issue to solve before gone stable and full browser compatible.

Best part:
Quote:
The following elements are not in HTML 5 because their usage affected usability and accessibility for the end user in a negative way:
  • frame
  • frameset
  • noframes

Re: HTML 5 first working draft

That means no more frames

The best part is the new things like <footer> so now instead of <div id="footer"> it's just <footer>
Yep, I'm in love with this bit:
Quote:
  • header represents the header of a section.
  • footer represents a footer for a section and can contain information about the author, copyright information, et cetera.
  • nav represents a section of the document intended for navigation.

Re: HTML 5 first working draft

No date as of yet. I wouldn't expect it to be too soon either.

Re: HTML 5 first working draft

The most significant improvement is the addition of header, footer and nav tags etc. These will give elements a more solid semantic meaning and will save on code.
