Windows media player

Right i just downloaded an update i think for windows media player, but before i did when i used to go onto awebsite and click a video it used to bring a box up saying 'open' 'save' but when i downloaded the update it wont do that, it just opens media player and starts buffering there. how can i get that box to come up again?

Kind Regards

Re: Windows media player

You have to change the handler program for the video files in browser.

Re: Windows media player

Try right clicking and selecting "save as".

Re: Windows media player

Right clicking and save as doesnt work for some reason, i want to save the video onto a pen drive and put it on my laptop to play offline.

Re: Windows media player

Yep, Nortus link should do the trick for you (provided you use firefox!). I have used this plugin before and it is great.

Re: Windows media player

Under Tools --> Options --> Content --> File Types --> Manage you can specify an action for every file type. If you remove the rule for 'videos' (.avi, .mov, .wmv) then the browser will allow you to download them instead of opening them with Media Player.
