From what Jacob has told me both banned members received pm's from the admin team.

Both members deserve this temporary ban as they were warned....

And that is me saying this!

Well, after reading through that, I too am on the fence. I agree with some of Pete's points but only to a degree.

I think the guys have been banned for very good reasons - They broke the rules.

I believe the rules are there so that the forum can continue to function effectivly. Without them , and the staff, the forum would soon fall into disaray.

We have a nice community here, with good people helping each other out. And I do feel that these rules can be relaxed when in the Cafe - that is what it is there for after all.

However, what we seem to sometimes forget is that this is a Design and Development Forum. People come here to receive and give help, and going off topic etc within the specific forums is not only frustrating for those you are trying to help, but looks unprofessional.

Anyways, I'm just here to give some of my expertise (if you want to call it that) and advice on an area that I seem to be OK at.

Just to make it clear because a couple of people have implied this - nobody has ever (to my knowledge) received a ban for going off topic! Bans are not implemented for the breaking of just any rules, only the more serious ones such as insulting other members, spamming, or promoting illegal activity.

Its ok going off topic a little in the cafe but when you are spamming - advertising other forums etc, or promoting illegal downloads you deserve what you get

good job or every single member would be banned
