Music Issue

Okay, this topic has been brought up before, and I am going to bring it up again. I remember talking about this with Pete, and Ryan. It might have been in the staff area. But here is goes.

I have the latest version of itunes on my Mac Book Pro. When I buy a new song, and select the song and add it to a play list to burn it to a CD I get this message..."itunes store files cannot be burned to an MP3 CD!" What kind of music store is this?

I purchased two songs, neither of them will BURN!! Why? Pete I believe said it works for him. Here is a screen shot! Let's fix this issue!

Re: Music Issue

Simple.. The Copyright protection on iTunes prevents you from burning to CD.

I remember reading an article about the copyright protection that comes with Itunes music.
Apple wanted to get rid of this but only a handful of record companies allowed them too.

Re: Music Issue

But why can Pete burn his itunes music to a CD? He said something like..."He could burn it 5 times?"

Mostly that..
but like I said, most record companies leave copyright protection on and some don't.
either pete's music is not protected or he's a big phat liar that downloads really

Re: Music Issue

I will do one and see what happens.

Could just be that iTunes don't love you the way it loves me.

I'll let you know.

Pete.

Re: Music Issue

Here is what my 15 year old son says:
He can burn and he has the latest version of itunes. This is what he does.

Click on the song you want to burn so that it's highlighted. Click control, then click the mousepad. Select Convery Selection to MP3. Then you will be able to burn it!

Your son is going to have to come over so I can get this working! AHHHH! So I found the song, right clicked on it, then selected Convert Selection to MP3. I then get this message..."Song Name could not be converted because protected files cannot be converted to other formats."

Again, this is a song I bought from itunes. Attached is a screen shot.

Re: Music Issue

Okay, I customized my settings at some point in time for one reason or another. But, here is what I did. The file was a protected AAC music file. I was trying to burn it as an MP3, you can not do that. So, I changed the setting to burn to just a standord audio CD. Once it is on the cd it is in ccf format I believe. After it's on the CD, you can rip the music off into any format...such as MP3. Not that you would want to do that!

Re: Music Issue

Are you still struggling Jacob? If so, I'll have my son come on here after practice and see if he can help you. Maybe via MSN.

Nope, see the above post. I figured it all out, thanks to Google, and your son for giving me the idea.
