Help!! Help me!! Desperate :(

I'm desperate - I need two companies to use for my project.

What we have to do is build a database system for an organisation that has clients and suppliers.

All I will need of you is for you to answer some questions now and then have an interview about 3 times over the next year....

Is there anyone who can help!!!!!

(I don't give a toss if you already have a system - I'm so desperate I'd design one for Microsoft!)

Haha that is how desperate I am!

I can help you out Dan...I don't actually have a Database of customers or for that matter many customers at all.

I know for my A-Level c/work I made up the entire company.

If your allowed to do that I'd be happy to fill in your interviews for you and "act" as someone who needs a database...come to think of it a database would be useful for when I do get clients!

Questions:

Who are you?

What is your business?

How long have you been in business?

How many people do you employ? And what are their duties?

Who are your customers/clients?

What system do you currently use? (paper based, spreadsheet, database etc...)

What is it used for? (Financial records, keeping track of orders etc)

Who has access to it?

How often do you make back-ups?

What information is collected?

How do you enter data in it?

How does it store information? (database, spreadsheet, paper etc...)

Ah right...well I guess you can't really go against what they say.

I have a small business, but I've only done work for one or two people at the moment so don't really need a database to keep record of it.

And in terms of how long have you been in business...a matter of months...so not long.

If you struggle to find someone else then let me know and if I can help i will.

I remember doing this exact project a couple of years ago in my second year of A-Level!

Wow, those are some hard questions. I have my accountant do all of my financial records, and have no idea what she uses...haha.

It's college, it can be after A-Levels or instead of A-Levels. BTEC National Diploma.

I'm in college doing a BTEC National Diploma in IT Practitioning which is equivilent to 3 A-Levels.

Are you doing the IVA? I did the BTeC National in IT just over a year ago and I made up my customers but I did use a real client.

I might be able to get you some answers as my brother-in-law has his own business
