Any1 Got a good dissertation Idea?

For my final year dissertation i have to make a web site but now i am starting to think what i can make, has any1 done a dissertation before and like the share the idea? Or any1 who has an idea?

Is that the brief..."make a website".

So it can be on absolutely anything and whatever you want?

Does it have to include certain skills? What skills have you got, especially what skills have you developed during uni?

No its not i have not actually had the brief yet i am just preparing for what i could do, and what i want to do is somthing around a web site, i have done quite alot in html, xml all the basic languages, done alot of java and im still learnin php, flash ect...

one example i had was a website which is for students where they can access all there lecture notes and also a part where they can test what they have learned from the slides, each time wont be the same questions. If that makes any sence.

I was just lookin for some ideas to help me along.

My guess, remembering my college years, is that what is being looked for is a demonstration of showing not only what you have learned, but what inivative approaches you are willing to take. I can suggest what you dont do is something that contains abosolutely everything you have learned. You are demonstrating control and showing that you can make choices about what is appropriate. How about something local to your place that shows what goes on in the area for people like yourself. Something that local businesses could add to?
Main thing is to find something you would enjoy doing, something you would know a lot about, and something that will look good in the portfolio.

Also originality is key - as well as showcasing your ability to use your skills sparingly and well your design and creative skills will be assessed.

So redoing something that has done before is not showing much creativity and will not earn any bonus marks.

I know your original idea is already in place in my Uni. We have a system where we can download our notes, read latest dept messages etc.
