Question Desktop Wallpaper Not Showing

I am facing a strange problem.I have windows XP Pro installed on my
system. It used to work pretty well, untill few days back it stopped
showing any wallpapers on desktop. It only shows the blank screen.

I am not even able to select any new image from Properties Window as all the buttons and lists appear disabled except the colour scheme dropdown.

I tried to follow the solution in Microsoft but still it didnt solve my problem.

Thanks..

Can't help, as I use Linux, but you've got time to delete your duplicate post before someone adds to it.

mmmm... let me think...

Oh, last few days ago, I play around with this remote desktop application [ UltraVNC | LogMeIn | NTRConnect ] and I think my desktop wallpaper started to "behave" strangely after that.

I wanted to use the System Restore in windows XP, but I want to know other choices to solve this problem.. Thanks.

Ahhh, that makes since. Most of those applications disable the desktop background when someone connects. This is to save bandwidth and speed up everything overall. As far as fixing it, the desktop background is supposed to go back right after the client disconnects. Weird that it is not. Make sure it is not running as a service in the background. Other then that, I can't think of anything.

Re: Desktop Wallpaper Not Showing

First of all, sorry for the duplicated post. Look how desperate I am!!! LOL!!

Ok, I have already uninstall all the remote desktop application
(that I have install and I dont know what am I doing with that so many remote desktop application doing in my pc)
and stoped the service activity (in msconfig under services tab), and still the desktop wallpaper is not showing.

At some point of the windows loading process, just before my desktop icon shows up, I can see the wallpaper. After that, all I can see is just a flat blue color desktop screen.

hemmm...????

Re: Desktop Wallpaper Not Showing

ok, you could do a system restore. To the day before you installed tht programs.

NOTE: BACK UP all the new files in the time after the restore point you want to keep. On to a remote HDD if you can.
