Macromedia
Have any of you ever had Dreamweaver skip through the page? When I click anywhere on the page it will take me to the top or the bottom. If I'm at the top and click the page it goes to the bottom and vise versa, any suggestions?

Re: Macromedia
So ... what do you care what your site looks like in Design view of a WYSIWYG editor?! It's what it looks like in the browser that's important.
Most of the time, what you see in the Design view does not reflect what it will look like in IE6, IE7, FF or Safari. So ... instead of relying on a WYSIWYG, hand-code your stuff and check it against the different browsers. |

Re: Macromedia
Yes I've had that happen and I do not know how to resolve it. It's as if everything in the design is touching each other. If you touch anything in the design, it highlights the entire design and plummets you to the bottom of the page.
I've closed the program, reopened and that has not fixed it. Other times I come back to a same design, and it's not doing that. frustrating when it happens. |

Re: Macromedia
Ya, I had the same problem using the Design view...which is why once I got here, I took the suggestion and started teaching myself hand coding. Do use browser to check your work, however I do use design occasionally when I am trying something new.

Re: Macromedia
I was in design mode trying to work out why there was a huge white space at the bottom of my pages that should not be there. I went in confused and came out even more so. Figures really!!! Think I might go and use front page!!!

Re: Macromedia
Well ... how about NOT checking the design view and checking your site against the real thing: browsers?!
Why go through all this trouble?! I don't get it ![]() |

Re: Macromedia
Not to mention Dreamweaver uses some old version of opera to render. Probably better in the new one. As for Front Page I would have to say negatory sir.

Re: Macromedia
The dream weaver design view, is, always has been.... and probably always will be... totally awful.
It is nice to be able to quickly see what a colour looks like without having to save F12 / update your local server .... but that is pretty much its extent in my opinion... |
