Processors - Intel vs Athlon

Always invokes an interesting debate - which do you think is the better processor - Intel or Athlon.

Lets see where this discussion goes.

Each has it's own strong point, but they basically do the same thing.
One thing I've noticed, (off new egg), is that, Intel seems to cost more for things that Athlon can do and more, but Athlon is a tad cheaper.
I prefer the Duo Core atm....which is what I'm using.

The ONLY processer I will use is AMD. No questions, no doubts. My opinion absolutely the best!!!!!!!!!

I have always preferred AMD myself as when I built my own PC's etc, the AMDS ran smoother and didn't seem to get as hot or overheat, however having used the MB Pro, I have had no issues with the intel duo core procs. So now I am up in the air. At first however Apple did try to swing a dealw ith AMD. As to why AMD failed to come through I have no idea.

I used to go AMD only, but I really just like the idea of a smaller company competing with a larger one. Now that Apple has Intel processors, I stick with Intel As for why AMD didn't go through with Apple, I think it was because AMD didn't have as strong of a future compared to Intel. But don't quote me on that.

I am thinking it is more AMD couldn't make the chips small enough, fast enough and/or to run cool enough in the laptops. Just a thought though. Or maybe it was just corporate bleck.

AMD must be doing something right, because Dell brought them last year BUT it seems that they are using AMD in the lower end systems and Intel in the top end ones... Though saying that dell had a law suit filed against them by the investors because they "relied on Intel’s rebates and loyalty (“don’t do business with AMD”)"
