Suggestions of Effective Non-Profit/Political Web Sites

Hi all...

I volunteered to help a local non-profit come up with ideas for a complete overhaul of their web presence. For this part, they want some examples of other organizations who have particularly good e-communications strategies.

I would most appreciate it if anybody could suggest web sites of either non-profit (either local or national) or political (from any part of the political spectrum) organizations that strike you as being particularly effective. Is there anybody that is doing stuff exceptionally well? Anybody who is particularly innovative? How about somebody who went the wrong direction?

As an ancillary to that, if anybody has examples of particularly well-done email communications by any of these types of organizations, that would be very helpful also.
