Computer anger

It appears that computer users are very easy to get stressed up, and then they take it out on the poor machine. I have been reading that this new Mouse Rage Syndrome is becoming more common, so we had better try to keep calm when something goes wrong and the damned thing doesn't respond like it should.

I haven't seen anybody post anything about this before. Is it really a problem, or another of those issues that has been over-stated? I suppose if there are computer beaters out there, then they are too ashamed to mention it to anybody.

Re: Computer anger

One time I got so angry at my laptop when it was frozen, ctrl alt del didnt work, so I just swiped my hand across the keyboard really hard and really fast, and two of the keys popped out. Now I dont have a right alt key or a start menu opener key. I definately regret doing that.

Re: Computer anger

This is a serious problem chaps

Its spreading arround the world... since its first documneted case just outside berlin its been sighted in france, england and even mongolia (where computers are suprisingly scarce)

here is the footage from that very first documneted case of what the tabloids are calling "Mouse Rage"

Check it out :: http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...12811807998481

Re: Computer anger

I read this report on a study that computers actually behave slightly different depending on your mood. I don't believe in psychics or anything, but it was an interesting read.

I just looked around for it on the web, but I couldn't find it I should've bookmarked it.

Re: Computer anger

ITs due to electromagnetic fields. Every year my old man bought my mother a new watch for her birthday (mid Dec) by xmas it had stopped - every year - every one. According to the manufacturers repairers (and a couple independant repairers) there was nothing wrong with the watch. It was diagnosed properly that stress levels brought on greater than normal waves of electromagnetism. I just told my dad to stop buying her cheapo battery watches from the local garage with his fuel tokens and get her a 'real' one

All joking aside - its electromagnetism.

I've been looking for it, but I still can't find it. I'd like to read it again myself; the article was such a fascinating one.

Re: Computer anger

Here is a study that identifies the main reasons for mouse rage, the main reasons are slow dowloading pages the second being poor layout and difficult to navigate pages.

Re: Computer anger

I think... personally ... and this is just my opionion..... that it had more to do with buying "cheapo nasty watches from the garge" than any electromagnetic waves caused by stress.

besides, considering we are totally surrounded by electromagnetic waves 100% of the time, i very much doubt that the miniscule ammount of extra radiation given off by the human brain... even when under severe stress would have any impact on a watch whatsoever.

Just my two pence ..... i say Ballony
