Re: When logged in options

Give me an idea of what your site is used for and I could expound more.

One basic idea is an area where account information can be edited. You user should be able, at the very least, to change their password. Other information such as name, birth date, and other personal info. I assume you know that.

Also, most sites need people to login because they are offering certain information, so just the ability to access certain information on your site may be one thing to add. Unless you have a forum, like WebForumz. Then you would give a user the ability to post.

A little more information about your site would help.

Re: When logged in options

Why do you want a membership thing for this? Are people submitting their art? If you're just providing information, you shouldn't make users register as it will turn off a lot of people. I really can't understand half of what you're saying...

Re: When logged in options

Would that all not be done via FTP??

What you are trying to do sounds more complex then just the simple login script I gave you, I am just a bit confused. I would think you would want everyone to be able to buy without registering...just need a clear understanding of what you are trying to do, that way I can point you in the right direction!!

Wouldn't setting up a shopping cart be easier than creating your own system?

I really have no idea what he's trying to do either.

Write us an essay that you might hand in to your English teacher, Aaron.

Re: When logged in options

Yeah. I'm assuming you've got a database. Just add an additional field for the user called "level" or something. Admin might be 3, Member could be 2, Subscribed could be 1 and User will be 0. Then use PHP to add or change things on the page depending on a user's level. You can create a simple script for you to change someone's rank.

If you're totally confused by this, I suggest you hire someone.

Re: When logged in options

Yeah, if you don't even know where to start, unless you're willing to put in hours and hours of studying and testing, maybe you should just post something up on a freelance site.
