Link bars in website

I design a webpage for a business that makes Rubber Stamps in Des Plaines, IL. I use FrontPage to design my website, and have themes enabled. I have been trying to get a good horizontal link bar for my website. I have tried FrontPage bars, however, they never work right on every page for some reason. I have been trying to find a good way to make a link bar. I tried doing css link bars, but the css pages from the FP theme took precedence over the css page from the bar. Recently, I tried putting together a link bar using tables. I would create a table with 1 row and 4 columns, and color it the way I wanted, and then put links in the boxes. It worked, and the only problem is that the bar doesn't show up right in Firefox. I haven't tested Safari (mac) or Opera. If anybody can either help me fix this problem or can help me find a good non-css horizontal link bar, I would greatly appreciate it. You can check out my website at http://www.midweststampman.com.

Thats a front page site alright. Now this may come off as harsh but you need to really get rid of front page if you plan to do any serious web design/development. Your site should be constructed with valid and semantic XHTML and CSS for style and presentation not front page templates and botched code. This seems like an issue that would be resolved by simply learning the basics and taking some time to do it right.

CSS would be your best option but you're right... FrontPage is based on Internet Explorer (surprise surprise) and thus doesn't display correctly in Firefox, which uses a different display format.
Mooj is spot on recommending you to learn code for yourself;

1) You will get better results from Frontpage,
2) You'll eventually realise how bad Frontpage is and ditch it
3) It isn't as hard as you think.

Have a look at the code page in Frontpage as you're working and you will begin to understand HTML.
Then take a look HERE for clues as to what does what, and how.
Finally go back to CSS. You were on the right track but probably got put off by the positioning. This bit is tricky but there are solutions and plenty of folks here to tell you about 'em.
