Newbie with a question

Okay. I'm building this website for the business that my husband and I have, handmade gemstone jewelry. I would like to create a button so that our customers can put the item(s) on layaway. Is there a way I can do this so that it creates a form, detects what 10% of their total would be(which is the minimum amount down that we are requiring) and lists on the form what items they are putting on layaway? I hope that makes sense.

I also want to include on the form something about paypal, which is the only payment type we'll accept for layaway because its the easiest to track.

I appreciate any and all feedback on this question. Thank you so much!

Sharon

Re: Newbie with a question

Agreed, you need some kind of semi-advanced e-commerce system in place for that.

You are going to have to read the documentation to get it installed and configured. osCommerce requires PHP and a MySQL database to function as well. I will be happy to host the site for you for (PM Me if Interested) and provide you with all of that including e-mail addresses, shell access, web ftp, web mail, etc... Sorry if this is promotional spam. I think you may also need to contact your bank and get a merchant account.

Re: Newbie with a question

Cut prices invariably mean cut corners... Not something you want if your system will be dealing with people's bank details and such....

Re: Newbie with a question

I will charge you $900... that means everyone else will cut corners obviously... a price isnt as always as clear cut as it may seem. The most important factor is whether a client is able to put their trust in your company. The client is also looking for the price to not be a "fair" price but cheaper than other companies, we live in a business world looking to cut as many costs as possible, if people can find a good solution at a cheap price they will take it, the trust in a company is the main criteria you should focus on your attention on

Please do not conduct business in these forums. The private message system is after-all the best place for this.
