Meta tags causing random whitespace in IE?

I recently added in a fairly large amount of meta tag info into the code on some of my pages of my website (www.f5webdesign.co.uk) and for some reason it has added a small amount of whitespace, a few pixels high, in between my header and nav <div>'s.

It only appears on the pages I've added keywords to, and only happens in IE. And I haven't the faintest idea what's causing it!?

Can anyone help?

Re: Meta tags causing random whitespace in IE?

Can't see why correctly added meta tags would cause this and as yet I can't see the real reason. It's ok in Opera as well.

A couple of things I would note:
Code: Select all
<div id="quoteright">
   <p class="pic">
      <img src="images/btyoung.jpg" alt="BT Scotland Young entrepreneurs Scheme" width="125px" height="49px"/>
'px' not allowed in xhtml and you shuld have a space before the '/>'
The later occurs in more than one place.

If you reduce your browser width to something approaching 820px, remember 20% users still using 800 x 600, your menu starts to break out at the sides.

Re: Meta tags causing random whitespace in IE?

Ok thanks, I'll get those fixed.

If you have any luck with the meta tags let me know. I really can't understand it but it's definitely linked because if i empty the tags the whitespace disappers.

Cheers

Re: Meta tags causing random whitespace in IE?

Not the solution but I just noticed something else.
Code: Select all
var sfEls = document.getElementById("nav").getElementsByTagName("LI");
xhtml is case sensitive so it won't find any "LI".

Re: Meta tags causing random whitespace in IE?

My best first guess wold be you have an apostrophe in your keywords...

"Prince's"

This may be messing with something.
