set up - Web Page Size ???
Hi there,
Im trying to design a web page that will conform to peoples individual browsers? Do people really use 800X600 screen resolution today? Anyway, Im looking for advice on the maximum size I should make my page size. I dont want it to be too big that the users are having to scroll both vertically and horizontally..but 760px X 460px seems sooooo small. Can you experts recommend how you normally setup page size for design. Im using fireworks just to set up the layout and cant figure that out until I figure out the actual canvas size! Thanks!

Yes people do still use 800 x 640. About 20% last time I looked at the stats. People don't mind scrolling vertically. It's horizontal scrolling that people dislike. If you are going to use a fixed width layout, unless you can guarantee your end user profile, make it fit 800 wide (770 max usable). Otherwise go for a fluid layout that works for anything. Even smaller widths such as mobile technology.
