Re: Information capture page Help

Hi Neel

You could use a number of different programming languages........

A lot of it comes down to the constraints of your host. What programming languages does your hosting package support?

I have a very simple information capture system that I have used for my clients in the past......what it does it emails a set address with the info, but also records the information in a database which is viewable via a web page.

If you want I can do you a quick example......which is in ASP, all the code is commented so it is easily customisable.

Cheers

Lee

Re: Information capture page Help

hi lee this is the package i have

http://www.streamline.net/uu.php

I dont know if this helps, i know i can switch from windows server to linux, so that should not be a problem

if i did not want a database is there a simpler option

cheers

Neel

Re: Information capture page Help

Well, obviously the way to go would be a server side script like ASP or PHP. Which one of those you use depends on your host's server. Windows and MSSQL or Linux/UNIX with MySQL. Microsft being Microsoft pretty much require you to use their ASP/MSSQL to achieve your goal.

If you are hosted on a non windows platform then MySQL/PHP would be the way to go.

Someone posted a sample mailer form on here some time ago... I can't remember who it was though....Damn this memory. It was in the PHP forum though so I'd look there first.
