Check Site

Could someone please check my site in both IE & FF?

http://www.wesellfudge.co.uk/pt/homepage.htm

There some issues* which I'm not sure how to deal with so suggestions on CSS improvements would be most welcome!

*last to paragraphs of text not indenting
Correctly spacing text from the top of page (FF)
Right hand div / lining up with bottom

Thanks

Re: Check Site

Code: Select all
<div id="bodylists3">
 <ul>
  <li>Did you really learn anything on your alst sales course? (have you ever been on one?)</li>
  <li>Did you leave feeling enthusiastic, ready to take on the world?</li>
  <li>Did you feel the course was aimed at you? (and not the whole room)</li>
  <li>Did you enjoy feeling part of the crowd - put into a classroom environment - because you had to be there?</li>
  <li>Was it a good return on the investement of your time?</li>
  <li>Happy with your house?</li>
  <li>Happy with your car you drive?</li>
  <li>Happy with the company you are working with?</li>
  <li>Happy with your JOB?</li>
  </ul>
</div></p>
This </p> after the closing </div> shouldn't be there.

You need to validate your code - 6 errors.

Fixed width is too much. 800 x 600 causes horizontal scrolling.

Your use of red text on this background do not meet accessibility guidelines for colour combinations. Fails all tests.

Your normal text colour on this background fails one of the tests.

Re: Check Site

I hear what you're saying ukgeoff, I'm using W3C to validate my code and with a few alternations it now comes up with xhtml strict 1.0. I assume if I run it through another checker I may experience more of the issues you stated.

However I'm still unsure as to how to iron out those other few problems.

1. The last two paragraphs ignoring the indent.
2. The correct way of displaying the right div tag so that the side blue looks good in IE & FF.

Any help would be gratefully received!

Re: Check Site

Yes, but for some reason (as stated in a previous post) my page is ignoring the normal <p></p> so I have had to adapt the code, however W3C has excepted the changes.

I've deliberatly not designed the site for 800x600, I would never have got all the navigation in otherwise.

I spotted the error with the last two paragraphs so they are now correct and added a clear: both to the footer so they page is almost how I intended it to be, however I'm not sure how to get the copyright statement to centre under the links in FF and am unsure if I have set the right div containing the side image and telephone up correctly.

I would love to improve my CSS so any constructive help would be appreciated.
