Help designing a crossword grid...

Hi guys, my first post here.

I am looking at making a crossword grid which I am going to use to my homepage. I am after a bit of advice on how I should go about it?

Basically what I need is for a 14x14 grid where I can put in a letter or make the background black.

Has anyone done anything like this before? I need the letters to be clickable as a link so it cant just be an image unfortunately.

If anyone could supply me with any code that would be a great help as I'm not that great at this sort of thing.

Thanks
Andrew

Re: Help designing a crossword grid...

You could just use a table for that. 14x14. In each cell either add a letter or shade it in black. If the cell contains a letter just make it a hyperlink the same way you would any other link.

Hope that helps. There may be a better way to do this this but I figure as long as it part of your layout and not your actual site layout a table should do just fine.

A table is the best way to go, anything else would just be reinventing the wheel.
