Static to CMS

Hi all.

im currently doing a project on a community based web site.

its for a couple of local towns and im wanting to incorporate them all but im wanting to have a website that i can easily update but have full control over the design.

Basically a cms but i want my design i currently have to include cms features including news/comments/reviews/ and so... but i want a way of just inserting a php include or summit where i want the news or reviews to be...

does this make sense? i know exactly what i want to say in my head but im really crap at writing it out.

any ideas people?

Andi

Re: Static to CMS

Andi, I would look at drupal, joomla or maybe even wordpress at a push.

They can all be tailored do expose parts of their CMS in the way you want and incorporating your existing design into joomla / drupal is a piece of cake.

Definitly worth checking out.

Re: Static to CMS

Another alternative which i use a lot is textpattern. Fullly open source and excellent community offering support and extensions etc.
