Re: Showing latest news

You need either a database with news in it to show, or the url of an RSS feed.

The rest is just all display (html, css) and a little bit of programming to work with the data.

What server side programming language do you have available?

Of course, it would... lol

However, I dont think someone who's struggling with this in an HTML forum would be in a position to look at AJAX just yet....

Let's not blow the guys mind before he's started.... lol

Hahaha...
A simple HTML and any scripting language will do just fine for a beginner.
I thing longcroft is still new to all of this, especially the scripting language part.
What scripting language that you like to learn for you to be able to accomplish the required task longcroft? ASP, PHP?

Re: Showing latest news

What exactly is it you are looking for, something cool and shiney such as the bbc, or something where you can easily change and update the latest news stories etc??

Re: Showing latest news

You could consider a build within a cms such as textpattern. Takes a bit of learning, but its built around the concept of blogging, so posting new articles could count as news.
