XP/Vista differences in IE7
Has anyone else noticed a difference in spacing in IE7 depending on whether the OS is XP or Vista?
I have a page that looks fine in all browsers, including IE7. It is a simple liquid layout with two left-floating columns. There is, however, minimal fixed horizontal styling, such as a 1px border. IE7/XP (32 bit Home SP3) drops the right column beneath the left one, i.e. there isn't enough room. I've checked 80 other OS/browser combinations and this is the only one that doesn't work. I fixed the problem just by trial and error. I think the cause is that XP and Vista create horiz scrollbars at different widths ! Grr.
