porblems with css and firefox

Hi

I have recently finished my portfolio at: www.porturban.co.uk and was checking how it looks in different browsers. Web Site looks good in IE6 on Win (which is my standard most used browser), doesnt look that bad at mac's IE but what I found out is that in firefox most of the text/copy is just going slightly off desired area. I have no clue what to do...Tried shrinking text area by putting bigger margins but it didnt seemed to work...Any ideas what to do to get it fixed? cheers...

Re: porblems with css and firefox

It looks like the problem is that you are pulling in a background image for the div that contains the text that is 540px wide and your style code for the div has the width at 550px.

Ergo, text falls outside the right-hand side of the background.

Without looking to much deeper, I suspect that Firefox is actually doing things right and you got looky with IE.

If by saying that you want to do web design, do you mean the look-n-feel of the site or the actual coding of both.

If youare interested in the coding side, then I suggest you learn how to redo your site without using table as a layout tool, follow coding standards and get rid of non-standard items, be they html tags or css attributes.

I don't have a direct fix, but I suggest from now own you code your sites while testing in Firefox (all the while making everything look good in it), then 'tweaking' things to look right in IE.
