Hi im wishing to have my site centred using css and don't know where im going wrong...

Re: Centering a Page In CSS
Hello.
You'll find that searching the forum will be quite sufficient for your answers. Currently, there is a thread on centering websites in the HTML Forum. (I'm also pretty certain that if you don't set a value for the height of a page, it will be auto. If not, height: 100%; should work. If you have any problems - as to implementing anything you see on the forum, feel free to create a new thread relevant to the problem you are having. Thanks, Ed

Re: Centering a Page In CSS
It's usually quite simple - How do I center my site horizontally?
However, will all the absolute positioning you have in there ... and the z-index it won't work. I suggest you strip all the positioning and use floats instead. It's much easier to deal with. And quite frankly, I don't see the reasoning behind the positioning and z-index for your site. hth |

Re: Centering a Page In CSS
Totally understand
I wonder if this would help - A websites' structure from A to Z The main thing is you need to start it off right. Get the right sections down for your mark-up then style it with css. This thread - Resources for learning how to use CSS for layout - has just about everything you need to know about CSS layouts. There's a section with example layouts as well. You won't get this down in a day so ... don't be flustered if it doesn't work by tonight |
