http://url:8080/request ??

hi,

my previous webdeveloper made a change to one of my urls and is now http://url:8080/request (url in replacement of my actual url)

i used to have http://url/request.html . Does anyone know what :8080 does? because when I access my website directory through FTP, how I used to do, but I can't find the folder "request".

do i need to use a different way to access to find the request folder? and if so, what do I use/how do I access ?

Re: http://url:8080/request ??

the 8080 bit is a port number.
Nearly all websites send data over port 80 as that is standard. I'm sure he is using port 8080 for a reason of security maybe.

Re: http://url:8080/request ??

how do I access it?
normally for http://url I can access it using WS_FTP and I can see all the files. however the files that link to http://url:8080/request, I can't find the request folder.

Do I need to do anything special to find /view this folder?

Hamboy...... just ask your host.

We could guess at many things, but we may be wrong. Easiest way is to ask your host.
